PSA- Eating Disorders
March 17, 2017
This week at Brodhead high school students learn a little more about eating disorders.
Media students made a public service announcement about either suicide, bullying, or eating disorders. While making the film, the media students were encouraged to use different filters, music, and other neat tricks on final cut pro.
One of the PSA’s was about eating disorders.
According to ANAD, at least thirty million people of all ages and genders suffer from an eating disorder in the U.S.
Many people disregard when a person skips a meal. Skipping meals aren’t the only sign of the start of an eating disorder. Another sign is when a person feels that they are either over weight or under weight and they feel like they are not perfect or good enough. When seeing these signs talk to an adult you trust and try to help the person, even if they do not want your help keep an eye on them. You can also look to see if the person seems to have less energy. People who do not eat enough tend to have a lot less energy and seem to be tired and wanting to go to sleep.
Also 10-15% of all Americans suffer from some type of serious eating disorder, me and women.
People think that only women have eating disorders or have problems causing them to have eating disorders.
